Today Kyle Whittingham will enter the wanted zone.
You gotta hope Gary Crowton gave Kyle the love zone on Tuesday. From all reports, he absolutely did short of giving him a job.
Whittingham has been reeling the past few days. He was rejected as Utah's head coach, spurred in favore of Urban Meyers, a young'in from the MAC who will be named Utah's head coach. Right now he's vulnerable. But Utah plans on rolling out the red carpet for its new coach today during a press conference and team meeting and second on the agenda is to lock up Whtttingham and not let him get away.
Whittingham met with Crowton for a good amount of time on Tuesday and it is described as a very good session of mutual respect. I still think Crowton will hire Bronco Mendenhall but too bad he couldn't create a cojple of titles, get some money and have both of these coaches on his staff. Whittingham will likely take Utah's offer to stay and they'll make it right with him. But the next few hours this morning is wide open for negotiations from BYU if they want to go his way. |
